William Austin Talbot, 82, of San Antonio, left this life on January 17, 2013 to be reunited with his wife of 57 years, Lillian Irene, and their son John Egan. A native Texan, he worked for Southwestern Bell in Corpus Christi, Harlingen, Brownsville and San Antonio. His 38 years of service with the telephone company was briefly interrupted while he served in the Army Signal Corps attached to the U.N. P.O.W. Command during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and active in the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years, earning him the distinguished service Silver BeaverAward for making an impact on the lives of youth through service to the council. He was an active member in the San Antonio Police Department’s Volunteers in Policing Public Safety Team for over 4 years. Reading, working with the police department, amateur radio (KB5ZAN), and spending time with family and friends were his favorite past times. He is survived by son William Erick Talbot and his wife Cathy, daughter Valerie Talbot St. James and her husband Randy, and 4 grandchildren – Adam Talbot St. James, William Ryan Talbot, Timothy Joel St. James & Hillary Michelle Talbot Seymour. Visitation will be Friday 1/25/13 5pm to 8pm, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Graveside Service will be Saturday 1/26/13 10am at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH 10 West 78257.
