Albert Lee DeMeulle, 68, went to be with our Lord Jesus on September 17, 2014. Or in Ham Radio languate, KF5ARJ has gone Silent Key.
After his retirement, the two main things that kept him busy were Amateur Radio and being a volunteer on the USS Lexington. Albert was a Volunteer Examiner, administering licensing exams to potential ham radio operators. He was a Board of Directors member of South Texas Amateur Radio Club (STARC) and a member of the Coastal Bend Amateur Radio Club (C-BARC). He was an Elmer (mentor) to anyone interested in ham radio. He spent numerous hours on the Lexington working in the radio room, teaching amateur radio merit badge courses to Boy Scouts.
(Excerpted from a post on the Coleto Creek Amateur Radio Club facebook page. I didn’t not know Albert, but he sounds like a really great guy, and an asset to our hobby. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Kathy.)
